Helpful Smartphone Apps for Seniors

I have compiled a list of apps that would be helpful to the senior citizens. I will keep updating this list whenever I come across any new apps.

Health Apps

  • Red Panic Button – This GPS based app can send an emergency message to any email or number with a press of a button.
  • Heartwise Blood Pressure Tracker – HeartWise Blood Pressure Tracker is a monitoring tool developed to help monitor patients BP in a visual manner that can be communicated to healthcare providers. 
  • Instant heart rate – The app measures a user’s heart rate in only 10 seconds by using the smartphone’s camera and flash to track color changes in the light that passes through the index finger as new blood is delivered with each heartbeat. 
  • Pillboxie – Pillboxie is the easy way to remember your meds.
  • WebMD – Check your symptoms, access drug & treatment information, get first aid essentials, and check local health listings on the go

  • Epicurious – Puts more than a thousand food videos directly at your fingertips
  • Find my phone – Find your missing device. Sign in at iCloud.com to find your missing iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple Watch, or AirPods on a map
  • EyeReader – EyeReader is a unique reading magnifier that utilizes the LED light of the iPhone, providing a solution to the problem of reading small print in dark areas
  • Find my parked car – Allows you to save your exact parking location and view it at a later time when needed. Set an alarm for metered parking

  • Flipboard – Flipboard is the social news app and allows you to stay informed about the topics that matter most to you has never been easier.
